Colour Pop or Flop?

Hey Everyone!

This is something I have been wanting to do for a while as I have a range of Colour Pop products and just cannot seem to workout whether or not I rate them or not!

I brought 14 different shadow pigments and highlighters as well as matte liquid lipsticks ( I will show swatches and thoughts of lipsticks on a different post ) I will also do a full swatch post and my thoughts on each individual shade too.. this is just an overview of my thoughts on the overall brand.
Here are the swatches of the shadow pigments I brought.. all from Colour Pop Cosmetics! I brought these for my sisters wedding and summer festival season ( which is why I have some bright pinks and a random blue ) something that I love about Colour Pop is that the shadows are fun, bold and super pigmented. A few of these shadows are from the Super Shock range and OMG WOW they really are shockingly bold and beautiful!

Please ignore the tv in the background I did not realise I had that it would come up in the recording, Whoops! anyway so here are the swatches of the highlighters I brought .. I always prefer to do highlighter swatches on video because it really shows the true pigmentation and actual highlight it can give!

Personally I love Colour Pop Cosmetics for the Shadows, Blushers and Highlighters. They are so pigmented and the texture is something like no other brand. Its creamy and almost feels wet to touch but dries to a powder finish! Colour Pop is also very VERY affordable.

Unfortunately I am not so keen on the Lips range from Colour Pop but again I will be doing another post on them soon along with a blog post on all the swatches!!!!

How to Holiday

Hi Everyone, if you have been on any of my social media you will see that I've just got back from a week in Crete for my sisters wedding!  ( I will do a special wedding post soon ) but i want to show you the top 3 essential items this summer - well my top 3 anyway!

Sunglasses is a must, especially ones with UV protection.. so a pair of polarised sunglasses is essential, but also a few extras like mine above that are 'just for fashion' with a little bit of protection.

This one is a bit of a two in one a swimsuit/bikini with a sarong! I have gone for a deep plunge red swimsuit from ASOS with a Marks and Spencer's short white Sarong with a small elephant print in black along the bottom.

Finally a summer outfit that you can wear to any hot weathered occasion. I got both this skirt and the sleeveless blouse from Dorothy Perkins. This can be warn for any Summer Occasion.. for example: a BBQ, a Beach Day, a Lunch out or a Picnic or even just to go shopping.

Man Cave Vs She Shed

So as we all know everyone needs there own place to chill out and have some 'Me time' as I call it...
everyones heard of 'The Man Cave' but have you heard of the 'She Shed' well take a look at some of these amazing 'She Sheds' ..

MAN CAVE - basically a personal pub with a playstation

SHE SHED - a place for listening to music, painting nails, relaxing and reading a magazine..

Tropical Trends

Tropical Trends are very in this summer, I love getting outfit inspirations from different world cultures, destinations and seasons.

Baby Pink is one of my go to colours this year ( and I am not a pink person ) this Dolce & Gabbana Women's Tropical City Collection dress embraces its sense of fun for Summer '17.

Say Aloha to tropical Swimwear this season, with vibrant floral prints, fruity fun and leafy motifs there is definitely something for everyone! The tropical trend is perfect for making you feel and look beach ready.

If you're looking for a statement pair of shoes.. tropical print is perfect this summer. Add a pair of tropical Mules like this pair from Gucci to a plain white tee tucked into a pair of MOM Jeans and you're ready to go!

Finally a summer must have this season is a tropical shirt that you can bunch up, tie up or even tuck in to your favourite denim shorts.

Garden Inspo

I know this isn't fashion or beauty related but I love design, art and creativity.  I also studied interior design and love spending time in a pretty garden.

I literally spend any moment I'm scrolling through my phone on Pinterest, saving pictures to my many different boards.

Home and Garden Inspo being one of them! I love the idea of having a Country home with an adventurous garden! Let me explain this for as that probably makes no sense at all..

For example this garden below is super cute, its well maintained, has a lovely summer house and a place to eat but what I would like is a mix of the one below and the three above .. Im writing this quite late at night, this probably makes no sense at all!

Either way Im hoping you get the idea of my garden inspiration from the pictures I've found on Pinterest and one day ill hopefully have a garden like this of my own that I can spam you all with pictures of!

I'm off to Newcastle for a few days...

obviously I will be shopping so the next post will be my 'Shopping Haul'

Lately a lot of my clothes all have one thing in common and that is that they are embroidered in some way. This season Embroidered clothing is really in fashion and looks like it will continue on through Summer'17 with runways and catwalks still bringing out these amazing designs.

Here in the UK summer really does not last long so its nice to bring that Floral Summery vibe into all seasons. Embroidery seems to be on all clothing items lately, whether they're Embroidered Jeans, Tops, Dresses, Shorts or even Shoes. It always works.

I am going to show you just a few of my recent buys from over the last 4-6 weeks that all include embroidery.

This dress is one that I brought from Fashion Union Via Lipsy  . I absolutely love this dress for out door day time occasions, for example.. BBQ's, Picnics, Garden Parties and anything similar. Its the kind of dress that could be both casual or dressy depending on how you wear and accessorise it.

These jeans are one of my favourite pair of embroidered jeans baring in mind I have three that are embroidered. I brought these from Marks and Spencer's.. one pocket has this floral design and the other pocket has a bird design that edges round to the front. Here is the online description and photos

I would say finally.. but this is just a few of my embroidered collection so you will probably be seeing a lot more in the future ( near future ).  I wear bralet's almost every single day as I find them more comfy on my forever changing bra size! This looks so cute over a plain black bralet and is perfect for summer and festival season.

How I Store my Make up

Storing your make up can protect the products from getting damaged but at the same time also keeping them well organised and ready to reach for.

This is just going to be a small post of me showing you my make up storage, I am one of those people who like decorative and vintage may be even slightly edgy home decor.

This is such a simple yet easy to find or buy Make up brush storage holder.. this cost me £1 from a vintage country store. I love getting inspiration from Country Homes and White Living Interiors. One of the things I've seen a lot in both of these searches are vintage jars for storage, whether its brushes, ear buds or cotton wool pads.. it always looks cool and qwerky.

The typical clear Cosmetic Organizer, these are in my opinion the best for show casing your products and for easy access to finding the shades you need/want. I got this from Amazon for under £10. This is just one of many different styles and sizes! One of my favourite Make up products is a Lipstick and I love to have my collection on display .. as you can see I only really have two different brands.. Mac Cosmetics and Younique by Lils Beauty Buys.

These are two of my vintage buys both from little Boutique Vintage Seconds stores. Both of these were under £10 each and are probably very old, If you like shabby chic/vintage home decor then I recommend that you visit local vintage auction houses, charity shops or shabby chic boutiques.

So that's it for my vintage decorative cosmetic organisers and storage holders, I do also have wicker draws, canvas boxes and make up bags but we will leave those for another day.
Let me know what your favourite way to organise your make up is and what you think of mine <3

Pastel Hair inspiration from Pinterest

Lately Pinterest has become one of my favourite Apps.. how did I not know about this before?
anyway I have about 8 boards that I save my inspirations and ideas too. one of them is Hair and Make up.. I wanted to share some of these with you, tell me what you think and what your favourites are?

These are all pastel shades that I love but unfortunately do not think I would be able to pull off or even be brave enough!

Lilac is literally my favourite colour in every single way.. I have lilac clothes, lilac nail polish, lilac shoes, underwear, socks the lot! I love lilac so this is un deniably a hair colour I will always love!

I found this picture today when I searched for lilac hair and wow I think I'm in love with the two tones of baby blue and lilac.. this Is such a pretty mix of the two!

And finally the Pale Pastel pink. I am pretty sure Katy Perry has rocked all of these colours and maybe even Kylie Jenner, whats your thoughts on these?

What the boyfriend Hates and Rates.

Something a lot of girls wonder is would my boyfriend like this outfit? and what are his actual thoughts on current trends..

Well I am going to ask my partner himself his opinions on 5 trends both in fashion and make up, because sometimes we need a mans perspective on what we are wearing and looking like. As girls we see things differently to what they see, obviously every man probably has a difference of opinion on fashion and make up on women.. and a lot probably really do not care but here is what my boyfriend thinks on the following..

1. Bright lipsticks

' don't really like them and you look like you're attention seeking '

2. Embroidered Jeans

' They're nice but they're to brave for me to buy them for you.. they either look great or they look awful e.g. stolen from your nan '

3. Sheer Body Suits

' Its a time and a place outfit e.g. holiday, not dinner with your parents. '

4. Cut Crease

' First of all .. ' I don't get it what's different' .. so now I'm showing him the difference between the two..  and all he says is ' its a bit in your face, so we're moving on. Now he's added he can see why I would like it as it looks like you've actually tried with your make up  '

5. Culottes

' Apart from having a stupid name, I like them, they're alright.. A bit hippy and wouldn't keep you warm in the winter, quite nice in the summer though.  '

So there it is .. his chance to voice his opinion, let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more like this?

3 Fashion Trends I do not rate

I thought I would do a post on trends I really do not rate this year so far. It's now April 2017 so this fashion trends up until now!  Trends come and go but some of them just stick around whereas some of them really should not.

Here are just a few that I personally think shouldn't stick around or be apart of 'The Fashion Trend'.

 1. Ring Chokers.

Personally I think that chokers ( in some styles ) can really glam up an outfit or just give that extra something to jazz it up! The ring chokers are just not one of those in my eyes, to be honest I think they look like an animals collar with a hoop for the lead or even something that'd be used on 50 Shades of Grey.

2. Over use of Frills and Ruffles.

This is just one trend that I really do not understand, I personally do not see what ruffles and frills do for you? especially when so many are used! I have to admit I do have a cute little top which has one ruffle which leads into a bell sleeve but its so simple I think it works. So I do not mind a subtle frill but when it's unmissable its a no no in my eyes.

3. Ripped in the wrong places jeans.

Now to me this is just wrong, whenever I look at these I just think to myself.. Why? and for what reason would you want rips in those places? I can appreciate they could probably work at a festival but I just do not rate them myself.

Thanks for reading xo

Festival Fever

Its getting to that time of year where Festival season is on everyones minds. A time of year where everyone lets loose and pulls out all the fashion and make up stops. Whether they're in fashion or completely wacky .. I have fallen in love with a fair few and I want to show you a few from my Pinterest Boards.

I am all over Daisies and Glitter this year, Just look at these looks I am getting my inspiration from!

GLITTER BROWS - now this is my type of highlighter ... I honestly find festival make up so exciting, it gets all my creative juices flowing!

GLITTER BAGS - this look is one of my absolute favourites, because not only does it look amazing .. but when you're at festival sleep is the last priority therefore the bags under your eyes need covering and what better way to cover them then some glitter, sequins and anything that sparkles.

DAISY PAINT - Daisy face paint looks good on anyone and everyone and its so simple to do ... grab some white and yellow face paint or even eye liners... whether they're perfectly drawn on or roughly done.. they will always make you look festival fresh.

GLITTER ROOTS - okay so as you can see I am basically going to be a human glitter ball this year but to be honest i really do not give a ****.   If you don't get excited about being head to toe in glitter is it even worth going to a festival? ( i mean obviously the music is one of the main parts ) but dressing up is one of my favourite parts!!

All links to these looks are hyper linked.

5 Tanning Tips for this Summer

I have been on the Tan Wagon for just over a year now and have tried many a different brands, living in the UK means that tanning season doesn't last half as long as you'd hope or wish. I am one of those naturally pale girls who reflect light if I haven't coated my body in some form of bronzing agent.

I want to give you my Top 5 Tips for tanning and let you in on what brands I use.

1. EXFOLIATION - I cannot express the importance of exfoliating enough, this is purely through trial and error on my own behalf. An exfoliating Mitt, Glove or Scrub will remove dead skin cells and create an even base for your Tan to build on.

2. MOISTURISE - if like me you have areas on your body that can become dry for example: Elbows, Under your feet, Hands and the back of your Heels then Moisturising is essential when trying to avoid any unwanted dark patches.

3. NO DEODORANT OR OILY SKIN PRODUCTS - these can cause streaks if left on prior to tanning, so make sure to be fresh and product free before beginning. (except on your dry areas as mentioned above).

4. WEAR A MITT - I have unfortunately once and ONLY once made the mistake of not wearing a tanning mitt to self tan. As the hours went by my hands turned very dark and actually quite orange compared to my natural bronzed look everywhere else. Not only this but a Tanning Mitt really helps to give you a more even tan. If you are using a Tanning Mitt I highly recommend washing the mitt after each use with some warm water and soap.

5. CLOTHING - after tanning I usually wait at least 5 minutes for the tan to dry before I put any clothes on. I use self tanners that you need to leave on for 6 - 8 hours therefore the clothing I wear once I have applied needs to be dark and loose fitting - some people have a specific outfit they wear once they've tanned, I also recommend this.

Okay so that is my TOP 5 TANNING TIPS for this summer. If you're interested to know what products I have used in the two pictures above.. here they are!

For my body i use the Skinny Tan Dark Mousse and for my face I use the Younique Beachfront Spray Tanner.

Interior Therapy

Hello beautiful people!

My Instagram following is now at the level that I wanted it to be therefore am now putting my time back into writing blog posts as well as creating Instagram posts!

Today I want to to write about something that I have a keen interest in which is Interior Design which I studied through my college years along side Art and Textiles! I definitely have the Creativity Bug at the moment.
I want to show you how to make your house a home with some of these cute cosy accessories..

One of my current favourite pieces for this season is a Faux Sheepskin rug, this can make your home go from that cold vibe straight to cosy! not only are they super comfortable they are also very versatile and can also be very affordable depending on where you shop. A few of the best places I would say to put a faux sheepskin rug would be: On a desk chair, On a tiled floor, In your bedroom or in your bathroom.. ( because putting your feet straight onto this fluffy rug is really going to be a treat for your feet ).

You may catch on from this blog post that I love a comfy cosy home and what home would be cosy without super cute blankets and throws to warm up those winter nights.

And finally the one thing that I could not live without is.. lots and lots of lighting! I think lighting Is very welcoming In a home, obviously your normal ceiling lighting is a must have but I mean decorative lighting .. here are a few examples I have found on Pinterest, I am a little bit obsessed with Pinterest when it comes to Interior Design Ideas I really do recommend taking a look if you're ever stuck for inspiration or ideas!
